Position Description:

The primary mission of the protein expression and validation of associate scientist will focus on recombinant protein expression and purification in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell systems.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, ordering, and management of DNA constructs for protein expression, purification, and assay development purposes.

* Evaluation and incorporation of emerging technologies for higher expression, increased speed, and/or decreased COGs.

* Perform transient transfection and production to generate protein for other groups.

* Work collaboratively with cross-functional internal teams and external service providers to ensure timely completion of deliverables.

* Some weekend work is required according to the production requirements of the lab.

Preferred Education/Experience:

* BS/BA in relevant life science disciplines with 2-3 years of laboratory experience or a MS in relevant life science disciplines.

* Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture including sterile technique, transfection, passaging, cryopreservation.

* Experience with DNA cloning or protein purification/characterization is a plus.

* Handles questions well in highly visible, adversarial situations.
