Hybridoma Production – Guinea Pig Hybridoma & Monoclonal Antibodies

The guinea pig (Cavia porcellus) is a species of rodent belonging to the family Caviidae and the genus Cavia. We breed guinea pigs in the SPF condition and now we are proudly to announce that we have successfully created a platform to immune those animals and produce hybridoma. Guinea pigs' models are often mimicking used in human disease, such as asthma, which suggest that they have an ability to generate a strong immune response when encounter stimuli in vitro.

Alpha Lifetech Inc. has managed to develop a fusion partner, so that guinea pig B lymphocytes can be fused efficiently to obtain hybridomas that produce monoclonal antibodies in a stable way. Around 107 splenocytes can be isolated from a guinea pig spleen, a comparable number to rats but around twice that for mice. Our fusion partner cells can reach a high-level rate of fusion, which indicates that 1-2 hybrids per thousand fused splenocytes are possible.

Program Features of Guinea Pig Hybridoma & Monoclonal Antibodies

-- High level of Antibody and Great Affinity

-- Exceptionally high cell fusion rates (1-2 fusions/1,000 B-cells)

-- High-throughput analysis of MAb pools (up to 50,000 samples / assay)

-- Wide array of in-vitro and in-vivo hybridoma screening and characterization assays

-- SPF animal facility

In addition, we could provide you interspecies fusion partners between the guinea pig/rat and guinea pig/mouse by using IR 983F or SP2/0 myeloma cell lines separately. But these hetero- or interspecies hybridomas that secrete specific monoclonal antibodies can't keep stable for a long time (~ 4 weeks) and then need to subclone after each scale-up culture.

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you are interested in our monoclonal antibody production service.
